Honorary Doctorate of Sacred Music D.S.M

CBIS is now offering an Honorary Doctorate for persons involved in music ministry who deserve the Special Recognition and Honor of receiving the Honorary Doctorate of Sacred Music Degree. Each applicant must meet the criteria established by the CBIS Board of Regents/Trustees and their evaluation along with the information provided about the candidates.The Honorary Doctorate of Sacred Music Degree will be conferred upon distinguished Musicians, Worship Leaders, Composers/Songwriters and or Choir Directors who have made significant contributions in their respective fields or for the extension of God's Kingdom. A Bio and or Resume along with a photo should be sent to CBIS for processing. You may send it to us via email to the following email address:admin@christianbibleinstitute.net Additional Qualifications: Must be at least 35 years old. Produce substantial evidence that you are an accomplished, faithful, anointed and seasoned music ministry leader and or Composer/Songwriter.You will need to produce a video tape not more than 30 minutes in length demonstrating your musical abilities and talents. Example: If you are a choir director you will need to submit a visual presentation of yourself teaching parts and directing the choir. If your are a singer you will need to submit an audio/visual presentation of yourself singing no more than 6 different songs in different keys as well as different tempos skillfully. If you are a musician you must be able to demonstrate your ability to play in different keys, you must be able to play hymns, praise and worship songs, solos, keyboard and organ as well as choir songs skillfully. Verify that you have had at least 10 or more years of music ministry experience.You must also submit a visual presentation not longer than 60 minutes of your performance. If you are a composer/musician you must be able to submit no less than 6 songs that you have composed or writing for yourself or another artist that has received radio play on a arbitron rated station. You must also be registered with ASCAP or BMI etc..... Prepare a typed two-page summary or resume of your work for the Lord. Secure the endorsements of three other ordained Ministers and or other prominent Church leaders. If you are a composer/songwriter you will need to submit no less than 6 completed and recorded compositions for review that meet with the above criteria. Prepare a 12 page Essay/Research Paper on the following topic:   Sacred Music You may also select your own topic but it must be approved by the President or the Dean of Administration. The fee for the Honorary Doctorate of Sacred Music Degree is $800.00 There are no payment plans available for this degree, it must be paid in full before the degree can be conferred or received. Essay/Research Paper must be double-spaced and typed in 12 point font. The student must be able to clearly explain the thesis of the essay, summarize its argument, and discuss its contribution to the study of the required topic or a topic chosen by the degree candidate. *The price of our custom frame is included in the cost of the degree*
